Renowned Performer Pat Finn, Famed For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at 60 Years Old.
Stateside actor Pat Finn, who featured in popular TV shows including Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at 60 years old.
The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in LA this Monday having undergone treatment for cancer since 2022, according to reports.
"He saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his family stated in a announcement.
They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".
A Notable TV Career
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he played the titular character's brother.
He also had a regular part on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He appeared as Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, depicting a host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.
During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on several well-known programs, like:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House
His most famous role for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.
His film credits include It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Beyond the Screen
Away from his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was involved with a comedy group of six known as Beer Shark Mice.
"He guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils throughout the years and it would be difficult to find anyone anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
In a tribute, peer Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote online.
Pat Finn is remembered by his spouse Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
